This calcite has a unique characteristic when held under
shortwave ultraviolet light. It briefly fluoresces bright pink at first,
then changes to blue with increasing intensity. It phosphoresces bright blue when removed from shortwave ultraviolet light.
Under longwave ultraviolet light, it fluoresces bright pink.
