Shortwave Ultraviolet

Terlingua calcite comes from the mercury mines in Terlingua, Texas
and has a unique characteristics of its own. When first exposed
to shortwave ultraviolet. There is a brief pink fluorescence at first
then changes to blue with increasing intensity. When removed from
shortwave ultraviolet, it has a strong blue phosphorescence.
When placed under longwave ultraviolet, it fluoresces a beautiful bright pink.
The pink spots you see in the shortwave photo are reflections
from the UV lamp.
